Ready, Set, PEDAL!

After the big success of #Cambridge2London last year, join #TeamMC Sisters Cycling Club on their next challenge as they cycle from London to Brighton.

Ride for us as an individual, with a friend or as one big team. However you ride, it won't be alone. You will be accompanied by veterans as well as new riders from the club. What better way to complete this challenge than with like-minded cyclists who will not only support you all the way but there to also push, challenge and inspire.

The Cause

At least 50% of the world’s population lives without access to essential healthcare, leading to 810 mothers dying every day from preventable causes.

Whilst the maternity mortality rate is dropping, there is still a significant problem. With over half of the world’s population living without access to essential healthcare services, expectant mothers and children face real issues. There is an apparent disparity between wealthy countries and families and low-income families; we firmly believe healthcare should not be dependent on how much you earn.

In 2017, 5.4 million children under the age of five died, and the risk of infantile death is eight times higher in Africa than in Europe. The same study revealed that globally 810 expectant mothers died every day from preventable causes related to pregnancy childbirth. Perhaps even more shockingly, 94% of all maternal deaths occur in low and lower-middle-income countries.
