St Davids Cathedral plays host to a rousing evening of music from the Band of the Prince of Wales to celebrate our Patron Saint. What better way to celebrate St David’s Day than a concert full of marches, hymns and anthems that we all know and love so well.

In this concert, the Band are joined by the young voices of Only Boys Aloud West, and the stirring sound of Whitland Male Voice Choir, all in the stunning setting of St Davids Cathedral.

The Band of the Prince of Wales is comprised of musicians from the Royal Corps of Army Music and is one of the 14 Regular Army Bands in the British Army.

Based in Brecon, Wales the Band has been in existence since 2017 with its roots firmly embedded within the former Lucknow and Clive Bands of the Prince of Wales’s Division.

The instrumentation of this band is focused on the brass family and provides a range of small specialist ensembles to events such as church services, concerts, fanfares and remembrance events across Wales and the United Kingdom.

Tickets for this concert are free to reserve, however we encourage you to donate as much as you are able. All proceeds will be split between the Army Benevolent Fund and St Davids Cathedral Festival, who bring incredible musicians to Pembrokeshire every year for incredible concerts such as this. The suggested donation amount is £15 per person, but please give as much as you feel able to. Last year’s event was very popular, so reserve your tickets now to avoid disappointment!’

Accessibility
Please be aware that the Cathedral sits within a valley. Visiting the Cathedral from St Davids city centre involves descending/ascending relatively steep slopes. The slope is less steep from the Merrivale car park to the West of the Cathedral, but if you have a severe mobility disability, you can call the Deanery Office on 01437 720202 or email [email protected] to see if they have any parking available on site or be dropped off at the gates by the South Porch of the Cathedral.

Existing accessibility provisions include:

• a wheelchair available for general use within the Cathedral, located in the South Porch.
• a toilet suitable for disabled visitors, located in the South Cloister.
• a loop system in the Nave and the Quire.
• disabled parking spaces (please contact the Deanery Office to book a space).
