Welcome to a new race from brainstrust as part of the 'Take on 10 for brain tumours'.

The focus for our challenges is the number 10 so think 10km or 10 mile races. The brainstrust Bass Belle 10km, like the brainstrust 10 miler will be organised as always by Ash Hawkins who has been running the events since 2014 and will be part of the Take on 10 for brain tumours event series.

As well as the Bass Belle events, we have secured charity places in a number of 10k events across the country throughout the year. For those who like the longer distances, don't worry we have you covered also with half marathon and marathons all waiting for runners and fundraisers; click here to find out more!

Pancake flat and fast, the brainstrust Bass Belle 10km is ideal for those chasing a PB. The route takes you around the picturesque local vilages of South Cambridgeshire, consisting of 7.5km on road and 2.5km off road, offering plenty of great views along the way. Part of the race is along private land, so only by entering the race can you complete the 10km course.

With only 350 places, the brainstrust Bass Belle 10km is an intimate race meaning runners can get off the start line quickly, and straight into their pacing without feeling bunched up by crowds. Another great plus for those after a PB!

About the brainstrust Bass Belle 10km

This is a chip timed event with all runners receiving their race pack by post prior to the event.  The race is open to runners aged 15 and over with no upper age limit - there have been many runners in their 80's taking part! We have also had people run with dogs, with buggies and even with a guide!

Finishers will receive a bespoke medal, water and goodies. Plus there's a cake stall and a hot food stall at the finish line for hungry spectators and runners alike. For those with their eyes on the prize, there are category winner trophies up for grabs including a new under 18 category. There will also be a trophy for the highest fundraiser.

Supporting brainstrust

All funds raised from the Bass Belle 10km go to help fund brainstrust vital services supporting people diagnosed with a brain tumour and their loved ones.

Every day 30 people in the UK hear the words 'you have a brian tumour'. For these people, life changes in an instant as they now face the prospect of a debilitating disease with treatment options that are complex and harmful. Too many of them face the road ahead feeling alone, scared, out of control and without the support they need.

This is where brainstrust helps. brainstrust puts people with a brain tumour and their loved ones first so they can reach their potential and thrive. brainstrust provides support and resources that help people with a brain tumour and their loved ones live the life they want after diagnosis.
