To ensure Candlelighters raise enough from the events to cover our costs and then fund the many support services we provide for families, we need participants to raise the minimum fundraising target amount for each event. If you want to support us but aren’t sure if you’ll be able to reach the target, please do get in touch with us for a chat and we’ll help find the best way for you to support us.

AGE RESTRICTIONS: Over 7's are welcome on this challenge walk as long as they are accompanied by one of their own parents or legal guardians at all times (this is a legal requirement). Lone Walkers must be aged 18 or over on the day of the event

By taking on a challenge event for Candlelighters, you’ll be joining #TeamCandlelighters and making a difference to children and families. As part of #TeamCandlelighters, you will receive a fundraising pack and support from our fundraising team, a technical running t-shirt or Vest, and access to our #TeamCandlelighters Facebook group where members can share tips, ask questions and get support. Timings: Meet at 6:45am, start walking at 7am. Finish at approximately 7pm.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks is one of the great mountain challenge walks - and it truly is a challenge! It is a demanding walk that must be approached with preparation and planning, but it is also an extremely rewarding walk that will be remembered for many years. The views from the summits are breathtaking, and the landscapes you will be walking across are stunning.

The route takes in the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (732m) and covers 25 miles (40 km) with 1,600 metres of ascent.
