Yorkshire 3 Peaks 2026
Friday, 8 May 2026, 06:00
Railway Children has been running this Yorkshire Three Peaks event since 2018 and it's only grown in popularity since then!
The challenge is a 39.2km (24.4 mile) circular route that climbs all three mountains in the stunning countryside of the Yorkshire Dales - Whernside (736m), Ingleborough (723m) and Pen-y-ghent (694m).
🛤️ You'll experience a landscape sculpted by glaciers and take paths made up of grassy slopes, boggy trails, rocky climbs and limestone pavements.
🏞️ You'll pass ancient dry stone walls, weave in and out of the Dales' iconic patchwork fields and experience the beautifully rugged moorlands.
🐇 You're also likely to share your trail with some of the abundant wildlife native to the peaks, like red grouse, peregrine falcons and even mountain hares.
🌄 As you climb each peak, you'll be rewarded with panoramic vistas, including views of the famous Ribblehead Viaduct, the stunning Yorkshire Dales and on a clear day, the lovely Lake District.
It's a one-day event which most walkers complete in 10-13 hours. The trek, whilst a fantastic walk, is a serious challenge. With extremely varied terrain and steep ascents and descents that add up to around 1585m in total, make sure you're physically up to it before signing up.
You won't be alone though, our team of highly trained mountain guides will be on hand to support you on the day. And our fantastic team of staff and volunteers will greet you with a warm welcome as you arrive. We’ll also be there to celebrate your amazing achievement as you finish your challenge, with a medal for every trekker to wear with pride!
This event is, once again, generously sponsored by Angel Trains.
Please note that dogs are unfortunately not permitted at this event, and you may be refused entry, without refund, if a dog is brought to the event.
