About the routes

Both routes start at the front of the stunning Mapledurham House and meander past the famous flour mill featured in the hit tv series, Taboo and the 1976 blockbuster movie, the Eagle Has Landed.

5km route: The 5km route has one fairly steep hill up into the woods of the estate – it could be a little bit tough, but the stunning views across the estate and River Thames are well worth it. This is route is mainly an uneven footpath through woodland with a nice down section on a concrete country road back towards the finish.

All-terrain pushchairs may be suitable.

10km route: The 10km route takes in the same fairly steep hill as the 5km route and later branches off for a second gradual incline before levelling out and heading back down towards the final 2km with Mapledurham House in the distance.

Suitable footwear is suggested for both routes. Dogs on leads are welcome, but please ensure you pick up after them.
