Following the success of last year’s Santa versus Rudolph Run, Brighter Futures have again joined forces with the Swindon Phoenix Rotary Club to bring you our Christmas Run this year.  Sadly, due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, it will not be possible for us to physically host the event at Lydiard Park, but we are excited to bring you Santa versus Rudolph virtually in 2020. 

You will have from Saturday 28 November until Boxing Day (26 December) to run, walk or jog 3k, 5k of 10k and there will be a spectacular Christmas medal as your reward.  There will be prizes for the best fancy dress too!

All profits raised will again be donated to Brighter Futures and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.  We have kept the entry price competitive, but would encourage you to set up fundraising pages or make a donation at the checkout.  Since the pandemic began, all charities income has been heavily impacted and every single penny raised will help to save lives locally.  (The system will automatically set up a fundraising page for you, there is no obligation to fundraise.  If you want to use the page to upload your finishing time via Strava we will automatically receive your time without you then having to email us seperately.)

Brighter Futures is the registered charity of Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which supports services at Great Western Hospital and in community health sites across Swindon.  Brighter Futures aims to raise funds to support an extraordinary provision of care to patients and help deliver joined up services for local people at home, in the community and in hospital helping them to lead independent and healthier lives. 

Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a registered charity providing essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Services in Wiltshire and surrounding counties.   The charity's mission is simple:  we save lives.  Our paramedics are trained in critical care skills and, together with the specialist medical equipment they use, it enables them to deliver gold standard medical care to patients. 

How to take part:

When: Any day or time from Saturday 28 November until 26 December 2020

Where: Route of your choice

Distance:  3k, 5k or 10k

Fancy Dress:  Please dress as Team Santa and Team Rudolph – or anything else Christmas themed – there will be prizes for the best dressed

Cost:  £10 per adult (aged 17+) £5 per child (aged 16 and under) £25 family of four (2 adults aged 17+ plus 2 children aged 16 and under)

Reward:  All participants will be rewarded with a bespoke medal

Local running club runners:  We know how much you have missed races since the pandemic started, so we are offering a bit of local rivalry.  Make sure you upload your run via strava after and your club could be in with a chance of winning!  We will compile and publish a weekly leaderboard – with one club crowned champions on Boxing Day of each distance! 

Please encourage as many of your friends and family to take part – why not challenge your neighbours to be Team Rudolph to your Team Santa?

Please remember when taking part to abide by all current government regulations and socially distance where required.  Please do not take part if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or feel unwell.
