THE 2026 WEALD CHALLENGE HALF MARATHON 7 JUNE 2026

From 1st January 2026 prices will be £37 with a competition licence and £39 without a competition licence.
The Weald Challenge is a trail half marathon from the village of Chiddingly, Sussex in June each year, although the route is actually 22km. The route is based around parts of the Wealdway and Vanguard Way. This is a lovely run through the beautiful Sussex countryside and with a relaxed time limit of 5 hours is suitable for a wide range of abilities. There are two checkpoints where water is available, at approx 9km and 16km. At the start/finish there is full first aid cover, indoor baggage store and free refreshments.

'Meals Not Medals' is where instead of receiving a finisher's medal, you choose to help provide a meal to someone in need, through the work of Uckfield Foodbank, https://uckfield.foodbank.org.uk/
As with 2025 the event will be chip timed and there will be three waves 5 minutes apart based on estimated finish time. So the first tier will go at 9:15am and the last tier at 9:25am.
To facilitate chip timing the course now starts on the School car park. This makes the course about 200 metres longer than the 2024 and prior years so it is now 22.2m: so you get a bonus 1.1k over the half marathon distance!
