The Bog Run is back, and it's going to be bigger and boggier than ever... Let's get boggin'!
UPDATE: Adult Bog Run sold out! Limited spaces for Junior Bog Run remaining.
On Sunday 15th October 2023, we want you to tackle the muddiest 5k around at Castlewellan Forest Park in support of children and young people impacted by cancer.
For 2023 we are thrilled to welcome a brand new junior course to the muddy mix, so join us with family and friends to challenge yourself with our adult course open to those 12 years and over, or take on the junior course open to 8-15 year olds with an accompanying adult.
Please note, the Junior Bog Run is open to children only (1 adult max to accompany them for health and safety), and if you are entering as an adult with no children joining you, you must register for the Adult Bog Run course.
The Course
The Bog Run is not a race, but more an opportunity to challenge yourself against nature. It is a 5k route through thick forest, delightful swampy bog and, maybe, there just might be a lake involved somewhere (the lake is part of the adult event only). You will climb over fallen trees, crawl through bushes and, while it is challenging and you will definitely get muddy, you will also have amazing craic so get your friends involved and have a bit of fun for a good cause!
Registration on the day for Junior Bog Run is open from 9.30am-10.15am with the event starting down by the lake at 10.30am sharp.
Registration on the day for our Adult Bog Run course will be open from 10.45am-11.30am with the event starting down by the lake at 11.45am sharp.
Please note we will not accept any on the day registrations. Everyone must be registered online no later than 1pm on Thursday 12th October. We will close registration early should we reach event capacity.

The Fundraising
The Bog Run is a fantastic event which is a lot of fun to take part in, but the main reason for it is to raise vital funds to ensure no child or family has to face cancer alone, and we can’t do it on our own. With you by our side, we can make an incredible difference for children and their families impacted by cancer and ensure they receive the right support at the right time.
We ask each of our amazing participants to pay a registration fee to take part and raise a minimum sponsorship. This event is organised by and paid for by Cancer Fund for Children. Your registration goes towards event costs to help us facilitate this bog-tastic event for you, and your sponsorship goes towards supporting our vital services. Try your best and whatever you may be able to raise will be greatly appreciated.
