The Big Avon Paddle is back for it's 4th year on Saturday 14 September! Join Dorothy House as we have some fun on the River Avon, raising money for vital hospice are in our community.

This year there are two options to choose from.  The well-paddled 4.5-mile loop starts at the Bath Boathouse (Newbridge Road, Bath) and goes downstream to the Avon County Rowing Club (Saltford Rowing Centre) and back. The NEW 1.5-mile fun loop starts at Bath Boathouse and goes upstream towards Weston Lock and back.

Participants can either stick to one loop or paddle a mix of both loops as many times as you wish in this paced event that’s enjoyable for all participants of all abilities and ages. It’s the ideal team building event for families, friends and colleagues.

With its fun Pirate theme there is the option to dress in pirate costumes with a prize for the best costume on the day! Refreshments are available to purchase at the bar and restaurant inside The Boathouse as well as at the outside Coffee Pod. Entertainment will include live music throughout the day.

The event starts at 10am and finishes at 6pm. The enjoyable and picturesque route provides plenty opportunities for stopping, refreshments, loo breaks and catching up with fellow paddlers.

Entrants 16+ can participate on their own. Entrants under 16 years old must be accompanied on the paddleboard/kayak/canoe by a paying adult. 

Every participant or family should raise £50 in sponsorship to help Dorothy House continue to provide free end-of-life care in the community.

Each entry fee includes a finishers medal and pizza afterwards.
