The Thames Towpath 10 is a signature 10-mile race in West London that draws runners of all backgrounds. Loved by running clubs, serious athletes and social runners alike, it offers a flat, fast route that’s ideal for pacing, racing or building towards longer distances.

The course follows the riverside towpaths from Old Deer Park, showcasing one of the most scenic stretches of the Thames in spring. It’s a welcoming event with a straightforward set-up and a long history in the local running calendar, making it a reliable choice whether you’re training for bigger goals or looking for a standout 10-mile race. Finishers receive a unique collectible pint glass, a long-running tradition of the event.

Course Details

  • Terrain: A flat, multi-surface course featuring towpath sections and quiet pathways along the Thames.

  • Markings: Each mile is clearly signposted.

  • Conditions: Predominantly pavement and gravel paths, with some uneven areas.

  • Water Stations: Positioned at key points along the course, including the start/finish. Please bring your own reusable cup to help us minimise waste.

Runners should keep left on the towpath to ensure safety and maintain flow.

Registration Details

  • Closing Date: Midday, Saturday 11th April 2026.

  • Race Packs:

    • Bibs can collected on are day at the Race Village.
    • If you registered on or before 30 March, your bib is also available for collection at Up and Running East Sheen during store opening hours and will be held until Friday 10th April.

Prizes and Finisher Rewards

  • Prizes for overall and age category winners.

  • Every finisher will receive a commemorative pint glass as a memento of the event.

Facilities

  • Toilets: Available near the start/finish area.

  • Bag Drop: A manned bag drop will be provided.

Travel Information

  • Getting There: Old Deer Park is a short walk from Richmond Station, which is accessible by train, tube, and bus.

  • Parking: There is limited parking nearby. Please avoid parking at Pools in the Park. Instead, use public transport or car share if possible.

Important Notes

  • Headphones: For safety, headphones are not permitted during the race.
