Tayside MRT 50th Anniversary Fundraising Walk
Sunday, 27 September 2026, 08:15
Tayside Mountain Rescue Team is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026.
To mark 50 years of saving lives in Tayside, we are organising a sponsored walk to raise vital funds for the team.
The team is made up of 35 volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We respond in all conditions, at any time, to help those in need in the hills and glens of Tayside.
There are two walks available:
The Half Hamish (7 miles) – Starting near Blair Castle, this circular route passes through the beautiful woodland of lower Glen Tilt before finishing in front of the castle. Suitable for families and those looking for a shorter day.
The Full Hamish (14 miles) – This circular route also starts near the castle before heading out onto the moors above Glen Banvie and finishing in front of the castle. Suitable for those looking for more of a challenge.
Both routes have an entry fee as below and in addition you can raise as much (or as little) sponsorship as you wish.
For teams wishing the do the event there is a small group discount available.
Join us on Sunday 27th September to meet the team and maybe even meet Hamish, our Highland cow mascot!
