Stride the Six: Farming for the Future
15 June 2026 - 31 August 2026
Six Countries. One Challenge.
This June, we’re inviting you to take on a 1,665 km virtual journey across the farming communities where Ripple Effect works – from Ethiopia to Zambia.
Take part individually or as a team and complete as much or as little of the route as you like – by walking, running, cycling or combining activities throughout the month.
As you log your progress, you'll unlock one country at a time, receiving stories and updates from farming families adapting to climate change through sustainable agriculture along the way.
The Route
Our virtual routes span the full breadth of Ripple Effect's work, connecting the two outermost project locations in each of the six countries where we operate:
Ethiopia: Wonchi → Bensa (352 km)
Kenya: West Pokot → Kajiado (461 km)
Uganda: Kikuube → Ntungamo (310 km)
Rwanda: Rulindo → Nyaruguru (225 km)
Burundi: Kirundo → Matana (175 km)
Zambia: Mkushi → Luano (142 km)
Why Your Support Matters
Across eastern and southern Africa, climate change is making agriculture an increasingly thankless task. Longer droughts, unpredictable rainfall and degraded soil are threatening harvests and food security for smallholder farmers.
Ripple Effect works alongside communities to support practical, sustainable farming methods that help families:
- grow more food
- improve soil health
- strengthen incomes
- and build resilience for the future
Funds raised through Stride the Six will support Ripple Effect’s Farming for the Future appeal.
