Step into Summer with our Trust-wide step challenge!   

As the days get longer and the weather warms up, why not get ready for summer by taking part in our Step into Summer team-building challenge? 

Coinciding with National Walking Month, and Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s an opportunity to improve your fitness as well as boost overall wellbeing, have fun with Mersey Care colleagues, and raise funds to support staff wellbeing across Mersey Care.  

 

Raising funds for staff wellbeing 

Did you know that Mersey Cares has a Workforce Wellbeing Fund which has been set up so exclusively raise funds for wellbeing initiatives to benefit staff and volunteers? Any money raised from this challenge will help us fund more initiatives like Wellbeing Through Wildlife and Wellbeing on Wheels, supporting staff wellbeing and enabling staff to take a break from their day to day --  

Ready to step up? Whether you’re seasoned steppers, are looking to move more, or love any excuse to have fun with your colleagues, Step into Summer is a great way to connect with others and make a meaningful impact.  

 

How long is the challenge? 

The challenge runs for the whole of May. It starts on the first day and ends on the last –  that’s 31 whole days to make a difference! 

 

Registration

Registration costs £5 per person, with all donations going to the Workforce Wellbeing Fund  Once registered, you will be asked to set up your teams and can get started! Teams can be made up of 1 to 12 people. If you have more than 12 people, please set up two or more teams.  

 

Recording your steps: 

To record your steps each person taking part will need a pedometer or suitable app/function on their smartphone or watch Once you register here, you will be given a link each week to record your individual steps. More information will follow before the challenge commences on 1 May 2026.
