GPS trackers

Each individual team member will carry an event GPS tracker. These must be carried for the duration of the event. Each tracker is assigned to each participant and their personal information provided at registration and must not be swapped with another person’s tracker. Each tracker must be returned to the event staff at the finish location. If your tracker is not returned or accounted for then an additional charge of £180.00 will be incurred to that individual. Your tracker will be available to monitor on a designated website link.

Event safety team

There will be event safety marshals at key points along the route. All are qualified, experienced, and insured. They will also hold a relevant First Aid qualification. They are there to assist and encourage you. However, they may advise someone to retire from the event for various reasons or to change the route due to unforeseen circumstances. If this does happen then please respect their decision and follow their instructions. There is medical cover both on the route and at roadside locations. There is an excellent safety team looking after you and they will provide support and encouragement to all. The event team will have radio and mobile communication throughout.

Medical and consent information

All participants will need to disclose any relevant medical information or illnesses they have or that may compromise not only their safety but also the safety of others. Typical information includes allergies, the carrying of medical equipment or medication in relation to an illness or allergy, recent ill health, speech, hearing or visual limitations and any recent serious discomfort. Disclosing this information does not mean you are not able to participate, it means the event safety team are better prepared to look after you if an unlikely medical incident occurs.

Dealing with emergency situations in a mountain environment is much more serious than in conventional settings. Please help us by disclosing any relevant information and you are welcome to contact the event team if you have any concerns. You agree to receive medication as appropriate, and any emergency medical or surgical treatment as considered necessary by the relevant medical authorities.

Hill and mountain walking are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. We recommend that individuals take out suitable insurance to cover them for the activities they undertake and any cancellation which may arise. You agree to adhere to any instructions and/or guidance given by the event safety staff on the day and to behave in a responsible manner. You give full permission for event staff to take reasonable photographs during the activity. You understand that these pictures may be used in local press and on social media for publicity purposes.
