The Skye Santa Dash or Dawdle is coming to Portree Town
on
Saturday 2nd December
Shinier, brighter and more twinkly than ever, this race is for absolutely everyone & we promise it will get you in the festive mood and there's a free Santa Hat for everyone who takes part.
Dress up as your favourite christmas character, or just wear your pyjamas and dash through Somerled Square until your face hurts from laughing. Get creative. There’ll be prizes for best individual and team costumes, as well as a woofingly brilliant Santa Paws parade where all furry four-legged friends are most welcome. The morning will be topped off with hot chocolate and cookies at the finish line. Don't worry if you're not a runner. You can dawdle, walk, or even waddle your way to the finish line - this race is for absolutely everyone.
Come as a team, or think about getting sponsored for your favourite charity [optional]. We want to see Santas’ and reindeer, and grinches and elves, fairies and sprites, gingerbread men and wishing moons. Anything goes, from tinsel to stars, so what are you waiting for? Sign up today, and don't worry if you're not a fast runner, Santa Claus himself is going to be participating, so you're in good company.
The Santa Dash or Dawdle will start and finish at Somerled Square in the Centre of the town. If you’re short on time, then to get the party off with a swing you can purchase a Santa Suit when you register - adult one size £5.50, small ladies / youth one size £4.00, and kids one size £4.00. Alternatively, there's an option to buy a christmas cotton t-shirt for £5. Beat the rush as we have limited supplies and it’s first come first served. Or in the spirit of recycling, use your suit from previous years or get up-cycling and creative at home.
Bring your kids, bring your friends and family – and remember there’s a team option. We’re excited to fill the pathways with a crimson & evergreen tide of sparkly Santa’s & Santa’s helpers for a whole heap of fun.
The Santa Dash this year follows one route, a Christmas Dash or Dawdle of 1.75 miles suitable for runners, walkers, very young elves, pushchairs & wheelchairs decked with tinsel.
Very young Santas or Elves under age 8 years must be accompanied by a grown-up Santa or Elf.
This year the Skye Santa Dash will be raising funds for Skye & Lochalsh Cancer Care and Skye & Lochalsh Citizens Advice Bureau. You can make a much appreciated donation at registration.
