Choose to Challenge: Everyday Activism

Date: Thursday 25th March 2021

Time: 6pm - 8pm

Tickets: Free, registration essential

Restrictions: Women-only event

This year, Savera UK’s women’s community event focuses on the 2021 International Women’s Day theme “Choose to Challenge” which looks at everyday activism and identifies ways that we can all challenge gender inequality and abuse in our day-to-day lives.

The event, which will be chaired by BBC Radio Merseyside presenter and founder of iWoman Academy, Ngunan Adamu, will feature a panel of exciting speakers. These include actor and Savera UK Ambassador, Sunetra Sarker, award-winning meditation and holistic coach, Malminder Gill, Maria Malone from world dance company Movema, Savera UK CEO and founder, Afrah Qassim and representatives from Savera UK Youth.

During the event we will also be sharing stunning world dance performances from Movema and work created by our Youth Advisory Board, before rounding the evening off with a live Q&A session.

Unlike our previous events, we intend this one to be a social gathering and will therefore be delivered as a Zoom video call rather than in webinar format. This event has been funded for women only, to provide a safe space where they can engage and participate in a community event. However, we cannot guarantee complete privacy. If you don’t wish the panel and audience to see you, please ensure your camera is turned off when joining the meeting.

The event is free, but if you are able you can make a donation, you can do so during registration.
