Sandycove Island Challenge is an annual open water sea swimming race around Sandycove Island, Kinsale, Co. Cork. It is organised and run by Cork Lions Club with the assistance of voluntary helpers in aid of local charities. The voluntary helpers will include members of Cork Masters Swimming Club.

Sandycove Island is one of the world’s top ten open water swimming locations.

In excess of 300 swimmers are expected in 2019.
The event is open to all competent and experienced sea swimmers. Swim Ireland Membership is not required. The swim course is approximately 1,600m long and there is a strict 1 hour time limit for all swimmers.
