You may recall the Winter Draw last December? The overall winner was ex volunteer crew member of the Rivertime Boat Trust and make a donation to the charity so all the participating charities of the draw could have a boat trip for their members. A very kind gesture from a very kind man whose generosity means the trip can be offered free of charge.

So the good ship Rivertime will be setting sail on Wednesday 13 April at 2pm from Henley and can accommodate up to 12 members. The boat is fully accessible and can accommodate manual and electric wheelchairs (as long as they don’t exceed a width of 760mm and motorised chairs can be switched to manual operation during boarding and disembarkation) but no mobility scooters due to width.

You could spot Mallards, Great Crested Grebes, Swans with their cygnets, Canadian, Egyptian and Graylag Geese, Moorhens, Coots, Tufty ducks, Herons, Commorants and if you are very lucky, the bright blue flash of a Kingfisher. No whales or sharks have been spotted….yet!

As we have limited numbers and we expect it to be popular we will be holding a ballot between Monday 21 March and Wednesday 30 March. If more than 12 people express their interest, people will be randomly selected. Please let us know if you would like to bring someone with you. If you require a wheelchair you will be required to bring someone to support you.

Please complete this form if you want to be considered for the trip. Alternatively, please let us know at the Centre by calling 0118 901 6000, emailing [email protected] or speaking to someone on reception.

No places will be guaranteed until we have confirmed your place on Thursday 31 March.
