Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully and make sure that you understand them before completing your registration. You should understand that by submitting your registration form for Pier 2 Pier Norfolk, you agree to be bound by these terms for yourself and all those you are registering.

General
�	I acknowledge that I am participating in this event at my own risk and that East Anglia�s Children�s Hospices (EACH) and Gladiator Events (who assist with the running of the event), the sponsors or supporters of the event cannot be held liable for any injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability caused or sustained before, during, or after the event, as a result of my participation, unless caused by the negligence of both parties.
�	I acknowledge that the minimum age for entry is 16 years old. There is no upper age limit but everyone participating is expected to be in good physical health enough to be able to complete the walk with minimal assistance from other participants.
�	If necessary you should gain advice from your GP as to whether you are physically prepared to undertake the challenge.
�	I understand that Pier 2 Pier Norfolk involves walking 32 miles over various terrain on the Norfolk coastline including crossing busy roads with can be hazardous, so I will take necessary care to ensure I avoid injury.
�	I understand that any photographs or videos taken at the event may be used in publicity for this event and future events including on promotional materials and online. It is the participant's responsibility to let staff know at registration if you do not want to appear in any such materials.

Registration
�	The entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  
�	All participants must be 16+ on the day of the event. (Any participant aged 16 or 17 must be accompanied by an adult participating in the event)
�	The registration fee contributes largely to the cost of staging the event and includes your entry pack and fundraising materials. All funds donated or raised in sponsorship go toward patient care provision.
�	Should alterations to the planned activity be necessary to ensure safety of our participants, we will give prior notice either before the event or on arrival to the event of any alterations made. This includes any changes to the start time.

Sponsorship
�	All participants agree to raise a target �250 in sponsorship per person.
�	Sponsor forms are included in the entry pack and must be returned as soon as possible after the event, along with all the funds raised.
�	I agree to returning all sponsorship and donations received to East Anglia�s Children�s Hospices within 4 weeks of the event date. By doing so, EACH can make sure that we are on target to achieve best possible care to those who need it. 
�	All funds raised by my participation in this event in support of EACH are raised for the sole purpose and benefit of EACH (registered charity no. 1069284) and those who receive the support from its services.
Safety
�	Pier 2 Pier Norfolk is a 32 mile walk that will be physically challenging and demanding. The terrain will vary between sand, shingle, paths and dunes and as a participant I accept the risks associated with this challenge. If necessary I should gain advice from my GP as to whether I am physically prepared to undertake the challenge.
�	You must follow any safety advice and guidance provided by EACH and Gladiator Events at all times.
�	If you do not understand the instructions or become confused about any information provided you will consult with a member of staff/a marshal.
�	EACH and Gladiator Events reserves the right to stop the challenge at any point if it deems that you are unable to continue with the challenge due to health and safety, injury, insufficient pace of walking or adverse weather conditions.  The aim is to complete the Pier 2 Pier Norfolk Challenge in 12 hours. EACH�s decision is final.
�	Should you leave the route at any stage you should inform one of the leaders/marshals/staff.  If you do not inform anyone we cannot be held responsible.
�	It is the participants responsibility to advise EACH of any health or medical issues that may affect their ability to participate in this challenge or continue with the challenge on the day.
�	EACH has no control of the environment on the walk, the weather, animals or indeed any of the walkers themselves, and whilst taking normal precautions, providing reasonable help and assistance as necessary we cannot accept responsibility for any circumstances affecting the health and safety of the participants in the group.
�	EACH cannot cover the insurance for cancellation, accident, health, emergency evacuation and loss, theft of or damage to baggage and personal effects.  All belongings are left at the owners risk.
�	Weather can change quickly.  You should be prepared for this and be prepared to abandon the walk should it be judged the situation has become dangerous.
�	You should at no point go beyond the limits of your abilities.
�	Alcohol is not permitted at the event. EACH reserves the right to disqualify anyone who is under the influence of alcohol, whether consumed prior to commencement or during the event. This is done in order to prevent risk to the safety and enjoyment of yourself and others. 
�	EACH reserves the right to update its terms and conditions in relation to Pier 2 Pier Norfolk at any time prior to the event. All participants will be provided with any updated terms and conditions in advance of the event.

Cancellation
�	EACH reserves the right to cancel this event at any time. In the event of this happening, entry fees and sponsorship will be refunded in full.
�	If the Event is cancelled because of circumstances of force majeure, the participant will not be entitled to any refunding of the entry fee and/or compensation of other losses, such as travelling or accommodation expenses.
Data protection 
�	The information you provide at registration will be shared with EACH and the event organisers Gladiator Events have signed a confidentiality agreement and will only use the data for the purpose of the event. Your information will be held securely with all reasonable precautions used to protect it. We will never sell or swap your data. 

Miscellaneous
�	I will not engage in any form of �ambush marketing� (ambush marketing is an activity by a party which utilizes the publicity value of an event without having any official involvement or connection with the event) and shall not breach or infringe the rights of any sponsor or other party commercially associated with the Event, nor conduct unauthorized promotions or other commercial activity.
�	By participating in the Event this does not confer any rights (by implication or otherwise) on the participant to use, alter, copy or otherwise deal with any of the symbols, trademarks, logos and/or intellectual property of the Event.
