Pedal for Hope: KidsCan Summer Cycle Challenge (Individual)

For the past two years, we’ve inspired kids to get outside and improve their cycling skills with our "How To" series during the summer holidays. This year, we're taking it a step further with an exciting new initiative: the Pedal for Hope: KidsCan Summer Cycle Challenge, starting Saturday, July 20th.

Why We're Pedaling for Hope

Our mission is to raise vital funds for KidsCan, a children's cancer research charity. In the UK, 20% of children diagnosed with cancer do not survive due to limited treatment options. Of those who do survive, 60% suffer from life-altering disabilities such as hearing loss, infertility, major organ and bone issues, and even heart failure. These debilitating side effects, known as late-effects, stem from treatments that, while lifesaving, cause significant damage to developing bodies.

How You Can Help

At Hope Academy, we’re rallying all our clubs to participate in a remote cycling challenge that’s open to everyone, regardless of age, location, or cycling ability. By coming together as a cycling community, we aim to demonstrate the unifying power of digital technology and collective action for a worthwhile cause. Through fundraising for KidsCan, we can help create a supportive community for children in isolation and fund groundbreaking research to ensure that every child diagnosed with cancer can survive and thrive without the fear of late effects.

Join the Challenge

Will you pedal for hope? Choose from one of two challenges and be part of a movement that brings support and hope to children in hospital unable to cycle. Through your participation, you can help create a world where every child not only survives cancer but thrives afterward.

Individual Challenge - 137 Miles

For individuals not part of a club, this challenge covers the equivalent distance from the Irish Sea to the North Sea Coast to Coast. Sign up as an individual to complete 137 miles over the same six-week period (22.8 miles per week).

Everyone who fundraises for this important cause will be entered to win 12 months of free bike rental, regardless of the miles completed!
