Terms and Conditions

1. These terms and conditions apply to your place at the Belfast City Marathon event . 

2. The event is open to adults aged 18 or over. 

3. You enter the Belfast City Marathon event entirely at your own risk and Mencap/ Mencap NI will not be liable for any injury or loss you may suffer or incur as a result of your participation 
in this event. 

4. You must abide by the rules, instructions and regulations provided by, 
contracted agencies, officials and police. 

5. If you are unsure of your physical ability to take part, you should take medical advice from your doctor to ensure that you are physically fit to participate and it is extremely important 
that you are realistic about your abilities to participate. 

6. You must register for your place directly on https://belfastcitymarathon.com/


7. The registration fee is non-refundable by Mencap, if for any reason you withdraw, Mencap can accept no financial liability.

8. If for any reason you choose not to take part or the event is cancelled, all money collected must be forwarded to Mencap and will not be refunded without a written request from 
individual sponsors. 

9. By taking part in the event you confirm that you are happy for your name, footage or photographs taken during your participation in the  event to be used to publicise Mencap’s work. Any photographs or video footage may be used on Mencap’s website or social media networks. If you do not confirm your consent, please contact Mencap. Details of Mencap’s privacy policy can be found on Mencap’s website at the following address:

10. In fundraising for Mencap you agree: 
a. To submit all used or unused sponsorship forms 
b. Not to reproduce Mencap’s logo without permission 
c. Not to collect in a location which is privately owned without first obtaining a collectors 
licence from the local authority 
d. Not to raise funds by carrying out house to house collections 
e. Not to raise fund by conducting a public lottery or raffle 
f. Not to do anything to bring the name of Mencap into disrepute 
g. Not to pressure or apply influence on people which would make them feel pressured into 
donating. 
h. Not to take a donation from someone who is vulnerable or lacks capacity 
i. Not to be unreasonably persistent.
