The Moonlight Challenge is the primary fundraiser for the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and has been held annually since 2010. Over the years, it has become a much-loved event, attracting participants from all over the country.

The challenge offers a route that, while demanding, is achievable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. The course is fully supported and waymarked to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

A registration fee of €25 per person covers essential event costs such as insurance, and participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of €75 each to support the team’s vital work.

The route changes annually but typically spans around 25 km through the stunning Wicklow Mountains, completed under the glow of the moon.
