MEET THE SPEAKERS
Ayesha Alam, Training and Development Manager at Savera UK
With a specialist background in forensic psychology and extensive experience across the criminal justice, health, and voluntary sectors. Ayesha delivers culturally competent, trauma-informed training to professionals working with those affected by HBA and harmful practices. A published researcher in HBA, she combines academic insight with survivor perspectives and practitioner expertise.
Bethany Hodnett, North West Outreach Service Manager at Causeway
They lead frontline staff to support survivors of modern slavery. They have extensive experience working across the sector, from frontline support to managerial roles. Bethany began working at Causeway, working directly with survivors and supporting them during their recovery journey. Throughout their time at Causeway, they have kept the service user voice at the centre of their work. Bethany focuses on multi-agency partnership working and sees the value in holistic survivor support. Bethany believes multi-agency working, with a trauma-informed approach, leads to long-term recovery.
Li Boglo, Modern Slavery Advocate at Causeway
Is a modern slavery advocate, providing frontline support to survivors of modern slavery at Causeway. Li works directly with individuals navigating the complex journey of recovery and reintegration. Her role involves building trust, offering practical and emotional support, and advocating for her service users. Li works closely with statutory agencies, NGOs, and community partners to ensure individuals in service receive holistic, culturally competent support that honours their resilience and rights.
