2025 TCS London Marathon Terms & Conditions 

Royal Mencap Society (Mencap) conditions of entry to the 2025 TCS London Marathon  

1.This agreement is with the Royal Mencap Society registered charity number 222377. 

2.You must be 18 years or older on the day of the event. 

3.These terms and conditions apply to you if your registration for the 2025 TCS London Marathon is accepted by Mencap.   

3.1 We expect to receive more applications than we have places for the 2025 TCS London Marathon and therefore reserve the right not to accept your application. 

3.2 If your application is accepted you must pay a non-refundable registration fee of �100 to confirm your place. We must receive your payment within one week of being offered a place, if we don�t receive payment by this date we reserve the right to offer it to someone else. 

3.3 Once we have received your registration fee we will send you a fundraising pack to support you with your fundraising plans and help you to reach your target. 

4. If your application is successful, you will also be required to sign up to, and comply with, the TCS London Marathon event rules and/or terms and conditions. Please note that Mencap is not responsible for the organisation or management of the event and therefore we shall have no liability to you for any injury, damage or loss suffered by you when taking part in or in connection with the event. Please refer to the TCS London Marathon�s conditions of entry.  

5. If you are unsure of your physical ability to take part, you should seek medical advice from your doctor to ensure that you are physically fit to participate, and it is extremely important that you are realistic about your ability to participate. 

6.You agree to raise �2500 in sponsorship that is exclusive of gift aid and the registration fee. You shall make every effort to raise additional sponsorship funds beyond the minimum requirement.   

 6.1 You agree to the fundraising deadlines for Mencap to receive your sponsorship 

�500 � 6 December 2024  

�1000 � 5 February 2025   

 �1500 � 27 March 2025   

�2500 � 27 May 2025 one month after race day  

6.2 you agree to provide Mencap with a progress report upon request.    

7.Mencap may withdraw a place if it considers that you are not committed to raising the sponsorship amount. Places cost up to �1,000 per place and Mencap needs to ensure the maximum amount of money is raised to support people with a learning disability. 

8.By registering for the event with Mencap you accept that we will share your personal details (name, email address, phone number) with the London Marathon so that London Marathon can email the participant in order to fulfil their event entry. 

9.The registration fee is refundable only if the event is cancelled. If you withdraw from the event you must notify Mencap on 020 7696 6946 or email marathonteam@mencap.org.uk. 

10.If for any reason you choose not to take part in the event or the event is cancelled, all sponsor forms and money collected must be forwarded to Mencap and will not be refunded without a written request from individual sponsors. 

11. If you withdraw from the 2025 TCS London Marathon due to injury we will be unable to defer your place to the 2026 TCS London Marathon. You will be encouraged to apply the following year but all new fees and fundraising will still apply. 

12. You must pass onto Mencap all monies raised in connection with the event. You can:  

i. Pay online with your credit or debit card  

ii. Raise funds through JustGiving or Enthuse  

iii. Send cheques made payable to Mencap, 6 Cyrus Way, Hampton, Peterborough, PE7 8HP.  

13. In fundraising for Mencap you agree:  

i. To submit all used and unused sponsorship forms 

ii. Not to reproduce Mencap�s logo without permission 

iii. Not to collect in a private place without first obtaining a collector�s licence from the local authority 

iv. Not to raise funds by carrying out house to house collections 

v. Not to raise funds by conducting a public lottery or raffle 

vi. Not to do anything to bring the name of Mencap into disrepute. 

14. During the course of the event video footage and photographs will be taken to publicise the event and the work that Mencap does. We respect peoples right to privacy and take every effort to obtain the prior consent before publishing such data, unless the efforts prove   disproportionate, and we are unable to verify the identity of everyone concerned.
