2021 Liberties Fun Run - Virtual Event
1 September 2021 - 18 September 2021
The 2021 Liberties Fun Run was due to take place on Wednesday, 1st of September. However; in light of the ongoing concerns around the Covid-19 Pandemic and the worrying rise in case numbers, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the physical road race this year.
We have spoken to the Gardai and to Dublin City Council but after exploring all other options including running the event in waves, the decision has been made to turn this years’ Liberties Fun Run in to a Virtual event.
We fully appreciate the disappointment that this news will bring, and we are devastated to make this announcement, however; I hope you understand that we have a responsibility to put the safety of all our participants, volunteers and families first.
Did you know that there are over 40,000 people diagnosed with Cancer in Ireland each year? It is a massive number but behind each of these numbers is someone’s mother, father, sister or brother living with cancer.
Here at St. James’s Hospital, we have the largest cancer centre in the country and we treat more cancers than any other hospital in Ireland. Many of these patients require chemotherapy at some point through their cancer journey. With your help, their journey can be safer and quicker.
