Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully and make sure that you understand them before completing your registration. You should understand that by submitting your registration form for the Lego Walk Challenge, you agree to be bound by these terms for yourself and all those you are registering.

General
- I acknowledge that I am participating in this event at my own risk and that East Anglia�s Children�s Hospices (EACH) and Firewalk Events (who are running the event), the sponsors or supporters of the event cannot be held liable for any injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability caused or sustained before, during, or after the event, as a result of my participation, unless caused by the negligence of both parties.
- I acknowledge that the minimum age for entry is 5 years old. There is no upper age limit but everyone participating is expected to be in good physical health enough to be able to complete the walk with minimal assistance from other participants.
- If necessary you should gain advice from your GP as to whether you are physically prepared to undertake the challenge.
- I understand that any photographs or videos taken at the event may be used in publicity for this event and future events including on promotional materials and online. It is the participant's responsibility to let staff know at registration if you do not want to appear in any such materials.

Registration
- The entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  
- All participants must be 5+ years on the day of the event. (Any participant under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult spectating the event)
- Time slots are allocated at registration, these cannot be altered. If the time slot is missed participants may not be able to complete the challenge. 
- The registration fee contributes largely to the cost of staging the event and includes your online fundraising materials. All funds donated or raised in sponsorship go toward patient care provision.
- Should alterations to the planned activity be necessary to ensure safety of our participants and/or care changes on the hospice floor, we will give prior notice either before the event or on arrival to the event of any alterations made. This includes any changes to the start time.

Sponsorship
- All participants agree to raise a target �50 in sponsorship per person.
- Sponsor forms are sent via email and must be returned before the day of the event, along with all the funds raised.
- Participants must provide evidence of the sponsorship raised before taking part on the day.
- I agree to returning all sponsorship and donations received to East Anglia�s Children�s Hospices by the event date. By doing so, EACH can make sure that we are on target to achieve best possible care to those who need it. 
- All funds raised by my participation in this event in support of EACH are raised for the sole purpose and benefit of EACH (registered charity no. 1069284) and those who receive the support from its services.

Safety
- Any participant unsure of their physical ability to take part in the Lego Walk event should take medical advice from a General Practitioner prior to the event. The event organiser reserves the right to prohibit a participant from taking part in the Lego Walk event due to medical reasons.  If a participant has any conditions or concerns that may impact their ability to safely complete the event they should contact events@each.org.uk before registering for the event.  EACH will share this information with Firewalk Events.
- You must follow any safety advice and guidance provided by EACH and Firewalk Events instructors at all times.
- If you do not understand the instructions or become confused about any information provided you will consult with a member of staff/a volunteer.
- Participants and spectators must not leave the event areas and enter other spaces within Milton Hospice without staff supervision.
- I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own safety and that of my group when in the Hospice.
- If any damages to equipment occur due to me or my groups negligence, I accept to be charged at full retail price or �100 for recovery.
- EACH and Firewalk Events reserves the right to stop the challenge at any point if it deems that you are unable to continue with the challenge due to health and safety, injury and/ or insufficient walking pace. The aim is to complete the Challenge in 5 mins. EACH�s decision is final.
- Should you leave the event zone at any stage you should inform one of the leaders/volunteers/staff.  If you do not inform anyone we cannot be held responsible.
- It is the participants responsibility to advise EACH of any health or medical issues that may affect their ability to participate in this challenge or continue with the challenge on the day.
- EACH has no control of other participants and spectators, and whilst taking normal precautions, providing reasonable help and assistance as necessary we cannot accept responsibility for any circumstances affecting the health and safety of the participants in the group.
- EACH cannot cover the insurance for cancellation, accident, health, emergency evacuation and loss, theft of or damage to baggage and personal effects.  All belongings are left at the owners risk.
- Alcohol is not permitted at the event. EACH reserves the right to disqualify anyone who is under the influence of alcohol, whether consumed prior to commencement or during the event. This is done in order to prevent risk to the safety and enjoyment of yourself and others. 
- Participants must not be pregnant.
- EACH reserves the right to update its terms and conditions in relation to Lego Walk Challenge at any time prior to the event. All participants will be provided with any updated terms and conditions in advance of the event.

COVID
- Should the Lego Walk Challenge not go ahead due to the ongoing pandemic we will communicate this to you as soon as possible via email. We promise to automatically defer your ticket to the new event date. You will be able to request a full refund if you are unable to make the new date. 
- If you are displaying COVID-19 symptoms, you will not be permitted to attend the event and will be able to obtain a refund. Please email events@each.org.uk to notify us of this.

Cancellation
- EACH reserves the right to cancel this event at any time. In the event of this happening, entry fees and sponsorship will be refunded in full.
- If the Event is cancelled because of circumstances of force majeure, the participant will not be entitled to any refunding of the entry fee and/or compensation of other losses, such as travelling or accommodation expenses.

Data protection 
- The information you provide at registration will be shared with EACH and the event organisers Firewalk Events have signed a confidentiality agreement and will only use the data for the purpose of the event. Your information will be held securely with all reasonable precautions used to protect it. We will never sell or swap your data. 

Miscellaneous
- I will not engage in any form of �ambush marketing� (ambush marketing is an activity by a party which utilizes the publicity value of an event without having any official involvement or connection with the event) and shall not breach or infringe the rights of any sponsor or other party commercially associated with the Event, nor conduct unauthorized promotions or other commercial activity.
- By participating in the Event this does not confer any rights (by implication or otherwise) on the participant to use, alter, copy or otherwise deal with any of the symbols, trademarks, logos and/or intellectual property of the Event.
