Learning Disability Week

Every year, during the third week of June, we have Learning Disability Week. It is all about making sure the world hears what life is like if you have a learning disability.

We want to show that people are so much more than a learning disability and this is the week for everyone in our community to make some noise to make sure that they are seen, heard and valued.

Get involved

Whether it's the thrill of a skydive, baking treats, organising a lunch and learn or hosting a coffee morning at your school, workplace or sports group, we would massively appreciate your support!

This year the theme is “Do you see me?”

"Do you see me?” is about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued.

We want Learning Disability Week to be about:

  • Celebrating the things that people with a learning disability do
  • Challenging the barriers that people with a learning disability face
  • Smash stigmas and end discrimination

Help us to make the UK the best place in the world for people with a learning disability to live happy, healthy lives.

  • £100 could help provide access to sport and recreational activities so people with a learning disability can socialise and break the loneliness and isolation they face.
  • £250 could help us influence utility companies and banks so they provide vital information in a clear and simple way so people with a learning disability understand the impact the cost of living crisis will have on them.
  • £500 could help offer families an extra six Saturday clubs, opening up opportunities for learning and socialising on an ongoing basis and enabling us to reach children and families who are not accessing early intervention services at present.
  • £1,000 could help us campaign to ensure that those people with a learning disability who are eligible for social care are able to access the vital support that is available.
