Launching roadmap to scaling up Ostrea edulis hatchery
Thursday, 30 April 2026, 11:00
We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming webinar launching a roadmap which outlines a path to increasing hatchery production of Ostrea edulis to meet the tailored demands of Europe-wide restoration and regenerative aquaculture efforts.
Native oyster restoration efforts are expanding across Europe, but access to consistent and appropriate hatchery-produced seed remains one of the key barriers to restoration at scale. This roadmap for delivery has been identified and co-developed with the European native oyster Ostrea edulis production and restoration communities. This roadmap outlines actions and recommendations on policy, regulation, and financing that could help unlock growth in native oyster supply for both restoration and restorative aquaculture.
During the webinar, we will present the roadmap and provide insight into the role and importance of each identified action.
The presentation will be relevant for governments, Sustainable Blue Economy Partnerships and EU Missions, restoration practitioners, hatchery operators, and others working to advance native oyster recovery across Europe.
