Rising Sun aims to provide a safe future for survivors of domestic abuse in Canterbury, Ashford and Folkestone & Hythe. We began as a small women’s refuge in the 70’s and have grown to a dedicated team of over 50 staff, providing services throughout our communities. Our mission is to provide specialist support to women, children, young people and anyone affected by domestic abuse, so they can recover and move on from the life shattering impact of trauma. Survivors are supported at whatever stage of the journey they are in, helping them towards safety, recovery and to rebuild their lives. We offer specialist services to survivors from age 5 upwards through mentoring, counselling, group programmes, emergency safeguarding and weekly drop-in services.
