The UK’s biggest and best kids running event is back on Saturday 7 September 2024, giving kids a chance to shine on Great North Run weekend. With plenty of encouragement and high fives from the crowds, it’s an action-packed day with an atmosphere like no other.

We hope for each and every one of the young runners and spectators to feel empowered and discover their own superpower – whether this is racing, fundraising or being a superstar spectator. As well as striving to be their best, we’re also inviting our enthusiastic runners (big and small!) to come in superhero fancy dress! We’re thinking capes, eye masks and something else to showcase your own power.

Minis aged 3-8 years take on a daring 1.2km dash, while Juniors aged 9-16 tackle a 4km supercharged sprint. There’s nothing quite like the amazing sight of thousands of happy, smiling, active kids taking part for fun, for charity, for a challenge and earning a very special medal for their efforts.
