Experience the peace and tranquility of the remote Isle of Skye. Famed for our community involvement, friendly atmosphere and closed roads, this event sells out every year.
This Chip timed loop course gradually climbs out of Portree for the first 1.5 miles before a steep climb at Drumuie leading to a now fast downhill 2 miles to the Kensaleyre turn. The race then follows a single track through spectacular Isle of Skye countryside including the Snizort River.
The 2022 Skye Half Marathon will continue to build on the sustainability steps we took in 2021 to help reduce the environmental impact of our event on the environment. We hope you will continue to support and embrace these initiatives. Key points to note:
T- Shirts - To continue our pledge to help reduce waste, once again we are not offering t-shirts as part of the entry price, however you can pre-order a t-shirt along with other items from our merchandise stall.
Hydration on Course - New for 2022, we'll be asking all of our runners to be self-sufficient with their hydration whilst out running on the course. We're encouraging everyone to practice training with this in mind by using whatever hydration method you wish. On race day itself, there will be plenty of water refill points along the route for runners to use.
These are not the only changes we made to the way we do things, read more here about our Sustainability Initiatives
One thing that hasn’t changed is that finishers can continue to look forward to our ever popular race goodies and a bottle of locally brewed ale.
For 2022 we welcome back the Fun Run which for the first time will be chip timed. Plus a fantastic bespoke Isle of Skye medal for all finishers and great age group category prizes. Entries are also online in advance.
