Home Education Day - September 17th 2019

The next home education day will be on the 17th September 2019 and will focus on the rich and inspiring learning topic of the rainforest.  Come and explore the incredible species and products of the rainforest through our fun, interactive exhibition and tailor made quizzes as well as fun and interactive activities designed to encourage your children to explore, discover and learn.

10am -12pm - Tropical Chocolate for Key Stage 1 (5-7 year olds)

Your children will discover the process of chocolate making from bean to bar, learn more about fair trade and even make their own delicious chocolate truffles. They’ll also think creatively about packaging that does not harm the environment and will be able to take their tasty truffles home at the end of the workshop.

1pm -3pm - Amazing Amazon for Key Stage 2 (7-11 year olds)

In this creative and engaging workshop children will discover the different layers of the rainforest from the dark forest floor to the tallest tree tops and learn all about the fascinating animals that live there. Our Learning Zone is always filled with excitement as children create their very own rainforest e-book with images, text and short videos - using our top tips to keep their readers engaged.

All WWF workshops are free but we welcome a suggested donation of £2 per child. Workshops will be grouped into age categories (5-7 and 7-11), offered twice a year and will be filled on a first come first served basis.
