We have a WhatsApp group for Independent Age supporters taking on the Great North Run for us this year. The group is an additional resource for supporters to share ideas, hints and tips relating to the event. If you would like to join, we will need to use your phone number to add you to the group. Other people in the group will be able to see your contact telephone number. You will continue to receive all information relating to the event even if you are not part of the group.

By submitting this form you give permission to Independent Age to use images taken of you at this event in our marketing which supports our fundraising, volunteering and campaigning work, thorough our website, social media, TV and Radio channels and printed materials, as well as those printed publications and digital platforms belonging to other organisations we partner with or trust (such as other charities). By registering for this place I commit to raising a minimum of �300 (excluding gift aid) and passing all funds to the charity within six weeks of completing my event. Please note this is in addition to the registration fee and relates to the personal pledge not an overall team amount. *

1. This event is hosted or organised by a third-party event organiser. We will share necessary information from that which you have provided in the registration form with the event organiser to assist them with planning, operating and managing this event. The event organiser will request additional personal information from you to ensure that the event can be run professionally and safely. The event organiser will also share your information, including any medical information provided, with us where necessary to enable us to steward you through the event. For further details on how your data will be used see www.independentage.org/our-privacy-policy and the event organisers privacy policy.
2. You agree to pay a non-refundable registration fee to secure your entry into the event. This is paid at the final stage of this online application form. This fee does not contribute towards your fundraising target.
3. You pledge to raising at least the minimum sponsorship of �300. This is in addition to the registration fee and does not include Gift Aid. You will endeavour to raise as much as possible above this amount. Your fundraising is payable within 6 weeks after the event has taken place.
4. If you need to withdraw from an event before the registration deadline and wish to defer your place, please contact the Events Team and let us know. If the event organiser's policy allows, you can roll your place over to the same event the following year, subject to availability. You can only defer your place once. Any money you have raised can also be rolled over to your future fundraising target, but you may need to pay a registration fee for the next year's event.
5. You confirm that you will be at least 17 years of age or older on the day of the event.
6. You may be required to complete an additional registration form for the third-party event organiser so they can confirm your entry into the event. You agree that it is your responsibility to ensure this form is completed by the given deadline. You understand that if it is not completed your event entry may be withdrawn. We will make reasonable efforts to make you aware if this is applicable to your entry and what the deadline for completion is.
7. This event is not being organised or supervised by Independent Age therefore you agree that Independent Age, its employees and its agents, accept no liability whatsoever in respect of any injury, illness, death, loss (including loss of enjoyment or possessions), damage, expense, cost or other sum or claim of any descriptions whatsoever in respect of your participation in the event. Nothing in these Conditions shall limit or exclude Independent Age's liability in respect of death or personal injury sustained as a direct result of Independent Age's negligence, breach of statutory duty or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8. You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, your general state of health is good. You acknowledge that you are taking part in this event at your own risk. We recommend consulting your doctor if you have any existing medical conditions that might affect your participation.
9. You agree to follow all reasonable rules and instructions given by the event organiser, event management company and their authorised representatives. You are responsible for your own actions or inactions. Where these differ from the wishes of the event organiser, neither the organiser nor Independent Age, its employees or agents can be held responsible for loss or damage to personal effects, injury or death.  
10. The itinerary may be subject to change by the event organiser should climatic or other unforeseen circumstances deem this necessary. You should refer to the event organiser's terms and conditions for more details.
11. You agree that all funds raised shall be paid to Independent Age as quickly as possible after your event and in any case by no later than 6 weeks after the event date. All payments to Independent Age shall be made via debit or credit card, cheque, bank transfer or via a secure online fundraising page. 
12. Any fundraised money collected must be forwarded to Independent Age and this will be treated as a donation unless sponsors specifically ask for it to be returned to them. Independent Age is unable to return anonymous donations.
13. You agree that should you, for whatever reason, not take part in the event, it is your responsibility to contact your sponsors to tell them that you are no longer participating in the event and to inform them about what will happen to their sponsorship money. By registering for this event, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. 
14. If any provision in these Terms and Conditions, whether in full or in part, is held to be invalid or unenforceable, all other remaining provisions (in full or in part) shall continue to be valid and enforceable.  Independent Age may vary these Terms and Conditions from time to time and the up-to-date version shall be available on this online registration form.  
15. These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with them is governed by and construed in accordance with English law.  The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that may arise out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
