Getting under the skin of the problem

Eczema UK is the leading charity supporting eczema in the UK and since 1975 we have strived to make life better for the eczema community.

Eczema is a complex inflammatory long-term condition that can be impacted by our immune system, genetics, skin barrier and environment. 1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults have eczema – that’s around 8 million people in the UK, and it often has a huge impact on parents, partners and friends.

Our charity is passionate about supporting people who have this debilitating, long-term and life-changing health condition. Life can be incredibly tough when you have eczema, especially for children and their families.

We provide an extensive range of eczema information and advice, which we distribute across our communication channels and networks. We are also the voice of people with eczema, raising awareness of the condition, supporting research into new treatments and campaigning for better medical care.

Our charity relies entirely on supporters and company donations to fund our work, as well as membership subscriptions. When you join the Society, you will receive our bi-annual magazine, Exchange, which contains a wealth of useful articles and information to help you live well with eczema.

Because eczema research is poorly funded in the UK, we have committed to spending £260k this year on research and student PHDships to ensure that the condition is front and centre of the health agenda.
