We arrive in Addis Ababa early on Friday 15 November. Check-in is at noon. Although the hotel does everything possible to have our rooms ready as early as possible, we cannot guarantee access to your room when we arrive at 8am (approx). To ensure your room is available on arrival, a supplement of €100 is required. 

Option 1 Great Ethiopian Run + Orbis Project Visit:
Thursday 14 - Wednesday 20 November (overnight). Costs: €4,500 total (includes a €250 registration fee). 

Option 2 Great Ethiopian Run:
Thursday 14 - Monday 18 November (overnight). Costs: € 4,000 total (includes a €250 registration fee). 

Terms and Conditions

I understand that by joining Orbis Ireland in Ethiopia (for the Great Ethiopian Run (Addis Ababa) and Orbis project visit (Arba Minch and surrounding area) that:

1. I release Project Orbis Ireland Limited and Project Orbis International Inc. (hereinafter “Orbis”), its officers, staff, programme associates and affiliates from liability for any accident, injury, sickness or death to me or any member of my family and/or loss of material items or income occurring as a result of participation.
2. Orbis Policies. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, I agree to Orbis’s policies listed below (attached) and will adhere to these while representing Orbis on the trip.
   • Visitor to Programme Terms & Conditions (Travel Health Antibiotics & Exposure Chemoprophylaxis on Orbis Program, Protecting Confidential Information, Code of Conduct, Safeguarding Policy)
   • Multimedia Consent
   • Social media policy
3. Safeguarding. I appreciate that Orbis is dedicated to creating and maintaining a harassment-free global work environment. All employees, contractors, consultants, visitors, and volunteers must adhere to this commitment. I will avoid any action or conduct viewed as harassment or constitute an affront to any religious, gender, racial, or ethnic group. I acknowledge receiving and reading summaries and agree to abide by Orbis’ Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy (see Visitor to Programme Terms & Conditions). I also understand that I must report any breaches of these policies to a designated person (as outlined in each of the policies).
4. Health and Safety. All those travelling to Ethiopia with Orbis do so at their own risk. I understand and accept the personal health and safety risks involved in participating in the Great Ethiopian Run, visiting Orbis projects and travelling in and to the countries where Orbis works I voluntarily assume all risks and hazards associated with my visit. I also understand that I do not intend to participate until I have had the full opportunity to consider and evaluate my decision to participate and that I am under no duress or undue influence. I agree to abide by Orbis’ Guidelines for Travel Health Antibiotics & Exposure Chemoprophylaxis on the Orbis Programme (see Visitor to Programme Terms & Conditions), including the guidelines and recommendations of the CDC. I also understand that while Orbis may support me in the event of a health event, Orbis will not be able to provide potential medicines/chemoprophylaxis and may not be able to give me direct medical care on the programme.  
5. Media Consent. I grant to Orbis the right to photograph, videotape, record, reproduce, publish and exhibit my picture, likeness, and/or voice throughout the world at any time, in perpetuity, by any means available, including, but not limited to, print, film, radio and television broadcasts, multimedia, video, audio, over the internet and any other means as may be useful for the advancement or dissemination of medical knowledge, education or teaching purposes and to promote the charitable works of Orbis.
6. Registration Fee & Fundraising Commitment. I enclose a registration fee of €250 and undertake to raise a minimum of €4,500 (week trip) or €4,000 (weekend trip) for Orbis.
7. Withdrawal. If I withdraw from the Orbis trip, any funds raised must be submitted to Orbis, and no monies will be refunded.
8. Itinerary. All flights, flight timings, itinerary details and arrangements are subject to change with little or no notice. Orbis will update on changes if and when Orbis has been notified. All transfers to and from the departure airport are at my own expense. I am responsible for my travel and accommodation in Ethiopia beyond 14-20 November. If I am refused passage and/or entry/exit to or from Ethiopia, I understand that additional costs incurred are my responsibility.
9. Vaccinations. I am responsible for all the necessary travel vaccinations and will contact my GP or the Tropical Medical Bureau to discuss this further. 
10. Travel Insurance. I will obtain personal travel insurance to ensure I am fully covered for travel to Ethiopia and participation in the Great Ethiopian Run.
11. Photographs. I will adhere to the Multimedia Consent Guidelines of Orbis Ireland (see attached) and avoid taking pictures of people without their consent or posting messages that could potentially stereotype, sensationalise or discriminate against people, situations or places.
12. Cancellation. Orbis Ireland reserves the right to cancel the event if there are fewer than the minimum required number of participants or if an advisory against travel is issued.
13. Medical conditions. If I have a medical condition that could affect my ability to travel to Ethiopia, participate in the Great Ethiopian Run, or any other planned activities, In that case, I will provide written permission from my doctor. All disclosures will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
14. Local Law. I understand I will be a guest of the host country, subject to the local laws and customs, and, as a representative of Orbis, I will always maintain a professional image.
15. Certification; Reservation of Rights. I attest that all information I convey to Orbis, in this waiver or otherwise, is true and accurate. I understand that Orbis reserves the right to revoke my visit privileges at any time, in Orbis’ sole discretion.

Waiver and Release

Having read the Terms & Conditions, Orbis Policies and the Waiver & Release and knowing these facts, you, for yourself and anyone entitled to act on your behalf, do hereby waive, release, discharge, hold harmless, and covenant not to sue (a) Project Orbis Ireland Ltd.; Project Orbis International, Inc.; (b) all sponsors and officials of the event(s); (c) the employees, and volunteers, including medical volunteers; and (d) all owners and lessors of premises on or in which any event takes place, and other representatives, agents, and successors of each of the foregoing (the "Releasees"), from any and all present and future claims and liabilities of any kind, known or unknown, arising out of my participation in the events, even though such claim or liability may arise out of negligence or fault on the part of any of the Releasees.

Medical Authorisation. You grant the Releasees and their designees permission to administer or arrange for any medical assistance that they deem necessary or appropriate as a result of your participation in the events, including, without limitation, arranging transportation to a hospital or other medical facility. You also grant the Releasees access to your medical records, physicians, and other information relating to medical care that may be administered at any such medical facility due to your participation in the events.
