ADD RESULTS FROM OCT 22ND TO OCTOBER 29TH

Every year since 2008 runners from the Garda Athletic Club normally form a ‘Blue Line’ at the front of the Dublin Marathon. Unfortunately this year the Dublin Marathon was cancelled. However Garda AC is delighted to launch the virtual ‘Blue Line’ to ensure Garda AC runners don’t miss out on this annual running event which usually coincides with the Dublin Marathon.

Normally restricted to Gardaí and Garda Staff, they have generously decided to give back to the Dublin Marathon runners & supporters who cheers them on every year. Garda AC is opening the ‘Blue Line’ up to the Irish running community. So if you always wanted to run with the Gardaí, you can join them on this special virtual run. Normally a Marathon distance, there is also the option of a Half-Marathon for this event.

This is a FREE event that is open to all runners to help people keep active and promote mental and physical wellbeing during these unusual times. Using the Marathon & Half-Marathon distances as targets to strive for and achieve, whether by running, jogging or walking, Garda AC wish all runners within the running community the very best over the coming months.

Garda AC have chosen Pieta House as its nominated charity for the virtual ‘Blue Line’ 2020. Pieta House provide an essential service by offering Free 24 Hour support and a therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm. There is an option to donate to the charity through the free registration process.

Garda AC have created a unique quality Blue Line Souvenir Medal and Garda Blue Line T-Shirt for this event, which runners have the option to purchase as an extra option to celebrate the completion of their Marathon or Half-Marathon achievement.

This is a non-profit event and any extra monies raised will directed towards mental health services.
