Venue: Great Western Air Ambulance Emergency Operations Air Base, BS32 4FB
Our ethos focuses on supporting your development; empowering clinical decision-making and procedures within your scope of practice. We welcome candidates from outside of SWAST, although please note regional variances between Ambulance Service guidelines exist.
This one-day event is open to ambulance clinicians and technicians, including apprentice and student paramedics. If you do not meet these criteria but would like to find out more about our Outreach Programme and ways to get involved, please contact us at [email protected]
Here’s what our previous candidates had to say…
“Probably one of the best practical sessions I’ve been to”
“Simulations were not pressured and felt helpful for critical jobs we don’t regularly attend”
“Great day. Thanks for your time in helping us be better paramedics”
“Really enjoyed the day; Super helpful and informative”
“Enjoyed it thoroughly and I’ll be back for another. It felt like a safe space to make mistakes and ask questions”
Why are we charging?
Since launching our first clinical teaching day in 2022, we have trained hundreds of ambulance clinicians free of charge. We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm and commitment shown by those who attend.
As demand for places has grown, we have experienced a number of late cancellations and non-attendances, meaning some training places have gone unused despite strong interest from others. To help ensure places are used effectively and to support the ongoing delivery of the Outreach programme, we have introduced a small attendance fee.
100% of income generated through Outreach is reinvested into Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, helping us continue to deliver lifesaving care and education.
Need help with covering the course cost?
We recognise that the rising cost of living is affecting many people and we don't want cost to be a barrier to accessing professional education. If you are struggling to cover the £25 course fee, please complete our funded course application form. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and you will receive a response by email.
If the course is fully booked but you would like to join the waiting list, please email us at [email protected]
