This is a beautiful 9.5 mile country walk reaching the peak of both Beacon Hill and Old John in Bradgate Park. It begins in Beacon Hill's lower car park which has toilets and usually an ice cream van. You will encounter a wide variety of scenery including forest, countryside, fields, and a golf course. Dogs can be off-lead in certain parts. This route makes for a good day out with an obvious path throughout while still being a relatively quiet walk in most places. The Wheatsheaf Inn makes for a perfect place to stop once you return to Woodhouse Eaves.
