British Army Band Colchester History 

British Army Band Colchester is one of fourteen regular Army bands in the Royal Corps of Army Music. The band was formed as a result of Military Music Optimisation on 1st of September 2019. The Band incorporates The Band of The Parachute Regiment, The Band of The Army Air Corps, and The Band of The Queens Division, maintaining the prestigious Regimental and Capbadge heritage. British Army Band Colchester continues to deliver musical support to the Army, Defence and the UK both at home and overseas.  

The Band consists of a full symphonic military band that is equally at home on the concert stage or the parade square, as well as chamber and jazz ensembles, and Fanfare Team. The Band has delivered musical support to a variety of iconic events including State and Ceremonial Duties at Buckingham Palace and Royal Parades. 

Their musicians have also toured around the world in support of international diplomatic efforts, including Switzerland, Cyprus, India, Canada, Jordan, and Oman, and many have deployed as part of short-term training teams to Algeria, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia. 

The band has recently performed as part of Her Majesty, The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant in London, as well as performing at the 2022 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
