Join our Elective Palliative Placements to gain comprehensive experience in palliative care.

In-Patient Unit Ward Rounds

• You will accompany our consultants, nurses, and social workers during weekly ward rounds on our In-Patient Unit- observing firsthand how we actively involve patients in their care plan management decisions. (Mon/Thurs)
• You will also be shadowing the Medical or Nursing team in the delivery of patient facing care.

Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Meetings

• Immerse yourself in MDT meetings across various teams, witnessing the collaboration among our healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, patient-centered end-of-life care

Community Palliative Care Home Visits

• Experience the contrast in services by joining a Community Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) on home visits- spending time with patients in their homes, gaining insight into personalised care in a community setting.

Hospice at Home and Pall24 Services

• Spend time with our Hospice at Home Team and Pall24 services as they respond to crisis calls, providing critical support to patients and families in urgent need and arranging care packages to support our community patients.

The Woodgrange Centre

• Embrace the holistic approach and aromas of The Woodgrange Centre - discovering how physical therapy and even Tai Chi can be used to provide comfort by enhancing the well-being of our palliative care patients.

Monday - Thursday will be spent at St Luke's Hospice + Friday's are spent at St Mark's Hospital, Macmillan Palliative Care Team.
