Able2B is a Community Interest Company working with children and adults with

disabilities. We offer adapted fitness and support programmes to build confidence,

concentration and improve day-to-day function.

Set up by Rachael Hutchinson, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Jon Thaxton,

Retired Professional Boxer and Personal Trainer, our services combine medical knowledge

& support alongside a very experienced trainer to adapt to any level of ability, including

wheelchair users and learning disabilities.

Able2B also works with local schools and businesses and in the local community to

improve perceptions of disability and help solve the problems that can be faced by the

individuals and their families.

Discover Your Ability Challenge

Able2B recognises the difficulties individuals with a disability can face, especially in the

transition into adult society. We understand the importance of perceptions in causing

potential barriers to each individual’s success through this phase of their life.

In bringing together children from mainstream schools alongside children with

disabilities we hope to break down some of these perceptions and barriers in a fun and

inclusive way.

The aim; to show children what they can achieve together and give them the opportunity

to demonstrate this to the Norfolk Community.

So they themselves empower change and progress.

Our inaugural event in collaboration with Norwich School in Summer 2019 was a huge

success which we intend to grow this year, with the added support of Irwin Mitchell

Solicitors.

All children & young adults between the age of 10 and 25 years can get involved either

individually or by involving their school.

Each child with a disability or SEN needs will be paired up with a mainstream pupil, to

work together through a short series of team-building exercises, culminating in a

walk/cycle or equivalent challenge in the grounds of Norwich School. They will be supported by the expert staff at Able2B

With the support and equipment we have, we can adapt the event to even severe learning

or physical disabilities, making the event open to all.

The participants will be involved in 3 team building sessions at the Able2B gym between February halfterm and June 2022 (dates ti be coinfirmed) culminating in the main event in the Cathedral Grounds on Sunday morning June 12th.

Our website www.able2b.co.uk has a dedicated DYA page with examples of our inaugural event that took place in 2019.

Please get involved and help us make this a day to remember.
