To commemorate both Louis’s 16th birthday and 4Louis’s 16th year, we’re completing this 16-mile Challenge.
We will head out around Derwentwater to first tackle the famous Catbells. With it’s stunning 36O views of the lake and surrounding area across The Lakes, we pause here for photos and a breather before heading down towards Manesty as we touch the shores of the lake itself.
From here, we head slightly away from the lake, for a time, to visit Watendlath Tarn and the old Packhorse Bridge. Heading now to summit High Tove and on towards our highest point and a Wainwright, High Seat. Again, views are stunning from here as we
pause for a rest and photos.
Heading off once again towards Ashness Bridge, another old packhorse bridge, takes us back to the shores of the lake and along an easier section for time to chat and enjoy the views. Shortly after Ashness Bridge, we start to climb slightly to the head of Walla Crag, our final Wainwright of the day. A famous view from here across Derwentwater and Keswick itself as we start our approach to the finish line.
After descending from Walla Crag, we start to feel the change. It' s a short walk from here back to the finish point with a chance for refreshments and a social opportunity to chat about the day.
