The ever-popular Morecambe Bay Sponsored Walk is happening and you can be a part of this iconic walk across the bay from Arnside to Grange-over-Sands. You will be helping to raise much needed funds to aid SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity to support serving personnel, veterans and their families in the North West.
Join the team at SSAFA on this guided 7 to 8 mile walk across the moving sands and tides of Morecambe Bay. Led by Michael Wilson, the Queen’s Guide to the Sands, we leave Arnside and cross the beautiful bay, along a safe route navigated between the tidal flow.
This unique route varies from year to year depending on the tides, but usually takes between 3 to 4 hours to complete.
On Saturday 11th June at 3pm. Registration from 2pm at Arnside Promenade
Tickets £15 per adult, £10 per young person (11-16 yrs) and £5 per child (under 11 yrs). *Please note - Parents should assess whether the walk is suitable for their children. Children should be able to negotiate the river channels with minimum assistance. The walk is onerous and it may be difficult to carry children if they become tired.
Well behaved dogs are welcome for FREE.
All participants receive a free SSAFA T-shirt. We ask that you aim to raise £50 in sponsorship per particiant. This isn't mandatory but every penny raised in sponsorship makes a difference : to give you an idea, £50 could help provide a Forces family with kitchen utensils and equipment to help set up home after leaving active service.
Families and Groups
This is a great event for families and groups of friends. If you wish to make a group booking please ensure to create a team on the registration page. You will be able to name your team and also enter the email addresses for the rest of your members.
We do not provide transport to and from the start/finish of the walk. You'll receive more information about travel options in your Welcome Pack.
