Together, St Wilfrid’s Hospice and St Michael’s Hospice offer a free two-hour workshop to anyone who would like to become more comfortable and confident in engaging with conversations around dying, death and loss.

During these workshops we will:

  • Explore how we talk about death and why we might find it difficult.
  • Develop skills, techniques and confidence to take part in these conversations.
  • Learn about Compassionate Communities.
  • Understand how we look after ourselves and others.

This will be an informal, relaxed session focusing on conversation, table group activities, and short videos.

This Compassionate Communities Workshop will take place on Tuesday 24th November 2026, 10am-12pm. At St Wilfrid's Hospice, Eastbourne.

Please note: This day includes some highly emotive topics and discussion. Please consider in advance of booking, whether the content might upset you and what support you have, should you need it.

If you have any questions prior to booking, or if the workshop is full and you would like to join the waiting list, please contact  [email protected]

We will also be running sessions on the following dates:
