Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park?

All participants will be asked to meet at our Base Camp, which will be at Pontneddfechan Village Hall, SA11 5ND. There is ample free parking available for our participants, along with access to refreshments and toilets.

From the village hall you'll be driven the 10 minutes to the caves by Parkwood Outdoors.

I have a medical condition, should I take part?

If you're unsure if you should be taking part in this challenge due to medical concerns, please consult your doctor for further advice.

You can also speak with Parkwood Outdoors on 01685 848309 for further advice.

Please note, all participants will need to sign an acceptance of risk form and medical waiver prior to taking on the challenge.

What should I wear for my challenge?

Parkwood Outdoors highly suggest wearing wellies for your challenge, along with warm long sleeves, loose-fitting tops and trousers - joggers are ideal. Also ensure your clothing is comfortable.

You'll also be provided with a cave suit, helmet and light.

Should I bring anything with me on my challenge?

We'd reccomend bringing a re-fillable bottle of water with you, although refreshments will be available before and after your challenge at our base camp.

Will the challenge be postponed if there's bad weather?

In the event that there's bad weather and the cave system of Porth Yr Ogof is unavailable, we will use an alternative cave system.

In the event of weather warnings, Tenovus Cancer Care and Parkwood Outdoors will make a decision together and inform participants of any changes ASAP.
