Causeway Coast Dog Rescue is an animal welfare charity located on the north coast of Northern Ireland. In addition to rescue and rehoming, the charity focuses on lobbying for 'reform', 'collaboration' and 'developing an improved animal welfare service', in alignment with GB and Europe.

This year's conference will be focused on two key areas: Morning with key speakers who have changed or in the process of changing legislation to improve animal welfare. Following a working lunch, delegates will then spend the afternoon engaging in real life scenarios to address legal issues in Northern Ireland animal welfare and share their views on how they wish to progress, working towards Reform of Animal Welfare in N.Ireland.

Key speakers include: Dr Marc Abraham OBE, Vet - Lucy's Law; Ms Christina Warner, Barrister - Ruby's Law; Vanessa Waddon, CEO Hope Rescue Wales - Greyhound Racing Ban; supported by Panel Members Tim Doyle (Greyhound Rescue Wales), and Patrick Baga Grey2kUSA Worldwide; Dr Andrea Lynch, Vet - The Links Group; Ciaran Steele - Solicitor discussing NI Dog Law and Demi Mullan advising on Irish Dog Law.  These are just some of the speakers who have travelled from throught the UK, Ireland and USA to provide a specialism, as experts in their field. 

This conference is about reviewing the year so far, addressing the many proposed changes by goverment, while understanding the needs of the industry and the communities. Attendees will discuss the current and future legislative impact on Animal Welfare Reform. Registration from 9am with speakers in the morning half of conference and Dog Law in the afternoon. Round table discussion on real life scenarios starts at 1.30pm until 4pm, close.

Welcome to Causeway Coast Dog Rescue's third Animal Welfare Conference, which will be held on 1st October 2025.  This year we will be hosting it at Queens Unviersity, Belfast and we look forward to welcoming you and our speakers who are all experts in their fields.

This year's conference theme is 'REFORM' as we focus on the much needed changes in policy and legislation.
