We are delighted to be working with the wonderful Tina from Jaya Dance for this interactive and exciting Bollywood workshop.

The event will include:

  • A short talk on the origins of the workshop dance with bindis for all participants
  • Learn a Bollywood/Bhangra dance routine and perform the routine

Bollywood dancing is the commercial name for modern Indian Dance made popular by ‘Jai Ho’ from Slumdog Millionaire. The unique style of dance has its roots in classical and folk dance with the occasional Latino and Arabic influence.

Extras:

  • A glass of fizz after the workshop
  • An opportunity to enter a game of 'Head of Tails' for the chance to win an overnight stay with dinner, bed and breakfast at Park Farm Hotel and Leisure, Hethersett. A big thank you to them for kindly supporting this prize.
  • A cake sale

We recommend:

  • Dressing in vibrant colours
  • Wear something comfortable to dance in
  • Wear a light slipper or bare feet
  • Bring water

Time to wear those vibrant colours and be transported into the lively movement and colourful expression that is Bollywood.

We hope you can join us!
