Level 5 is here and it changes things for us all again.

However, what doesn’t change is that the Saturday Road Runners will do their utmost to give us all a lift and something to train and aim for during these uncertain times.
The last time we were in lockdown we had our Front Door Challenge which kept us all going and kept our mental health in check and this time we hope we can help out once again and also raise some much needed funds for our local Down Syndrome branch.

Unfortunately our annual Beat The Train for Down Syndrome won't be able to go ahead this year in the same form as previous years BUT it is happening and true to our motto it will be very much “THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT ”
We are going virtual(ish) this year over the weekend of 4th – 6th December.
We will have 4 marked 10 mile routes in Waterford or you can run your own preferred route. As well as that, we have our good friend Pat Walsh in Cork and Adele Walsh in Kilkenny on board to ensure everyone can run their virtual Beat The Train 10 miles for Down Syndrome Waterford & South Kilkenny Branch. We have some other counties coming on board also.....how many counties can we get we wonder?
And to make it more interesting, we will be running a predict your time competition when you register you can also enter your predicted time.
When you have completed your virtual Beat The Train 10miler send us your time if your close to your predicted time and you think you could be a winner (picture evidence please😊)
We will have some prizes from our very generous sponsors for the closest predicted times.

The real positive here is we have 6 weeks to train for your 10 mile pb....WE HAVE A GOAL– so as the weeks go by we will be counting down as you share your happy training photos with us and we’re sure it will help raise all of our spirits....we want to see loads of photos of how your training is going over the 6 weeks.
