Thank you for your interest in shaping how £85,000 of community funding is shared in Barrow. This is your chance to bring your local knowledge and ideas to the table and help make a real difference.
We’ll be hosting three friendly, food-filled workshops at Piel View House (Full of Noises) in Barrow Park on Abbey Road. You’ll work alongside other local residents to decide what kinds of projects should be funded, who can apply, and what impact this funding should have.
This is the second year of the community panel, building on what local people shaped last year - and this new group will help decide what happens next. You don’t need any previous experience of funding or committees, just a connection to Barrow and an interest in your community.
- Monday 29 June, 10am - 2pm
- Monday 6 July, 10am - 2pm
- Monday 13 July, 10am - 2pm
The venue is fully accessible, and we can support with childcare, travel, and translation if needed. As a thank you for your time and contribution, we offer a voucher of your choice to panel members who take part in all three workshops. Photographs may be taken at these events and used for marketing and promotional purposes, both in print and online. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let us know.
Please complete the form to register your interest. For more information or if you have any questions about the scheme, contact Laura Goad at Cumbria Development Education Centre on 015394 31602 or email [email protected]
We look forward to welcoming you!
The funding is managed by Cumbria Community Foundation, and has been provided by the UK Government, and Team Barrow’s Delivery Board through a grant from the Social Impact Fund, which aims to make Barrow a better place to live, work, study, visit, and invest in.
